OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) – For a large number of kids growing up in Nebraska, the dream is to excel at football, attend UNL and one day, play for the Big Red on game day.

Saturday afternoon this dream came true for many area-players as they took the field for the first time wearing the Nebraska logo.

“It was amazing, something really special that I’ve dreamed about since I was little,” said sophomore Noah Vedral. “It was something I’ve always dreamed of and it still feels surreal.”

“I always wanted to be a part of a program like this,” said senior Matt Jarzynka. “I came from an eight-man school in Loup City and it’s always been my dream and I can’t say enough about it and it was just the greatest experience of my life.”
