As you know, Hy-Vee carries a large variety of wine, spirits, and beer. It’s always been my go-to spot for some of my favorite local craft beers. They also have a huge selection of wine year-round, but in the fall you can also pick up seasonal autumn and Halloween-themed wine. There are some creative ways of turning your favorite spirits into different delicious spooky concoctions. I have already ranked my favorite fall Oktoberfest beers, but how about some Halloween craft cocktails? The October Seasons magazine, which is free at your neighborhood Hy-Vee, has some very intriguing drink recipes that I had to try. Wouldn’t you know it, the one I started with involves a Sam Adams beer.
Pour yourself a nice cold Sam Adams Jack-O-Pumpkin and simply add nutmeg and cinnamon to give it a full fall finish. I have to say it was awesome.
Sticking with the fall beer theme, try the Orange Moon. You take a Blue Moon Belgian white, pour it over ice. Gently add 1 ounce of Aperol over the back of a bar spoon and garnish with orange zest. Simply delightful. So may more recipes to try and have fun with. Check out the link to Seasons magazine drink recipes for Halloween and enjoy responsibly.
Cheers, and Happy Halloween!
