We are excited to bring the breast cancer community together this year for the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk being held on October 8th at Werner Park. The MORE THAN PINK Walk is Komen’s signature fundraising event.
It’s a day where we put aside everything else in our lives and share our stories, our laughter, and our tears to raise money that saves lives while we celebrate survivors, those living with metastatic breast cancer, and honor loved ones lost.
How Your Support through the Walk Helps:
1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in her lifetime. That’s one person every 2 minutes in the U.S.
Money raised by participants and donated by sponsors for the walk advances research to find new discoveries and more effective treatments; allows Komen to provide evidence-based breast health education; and directs, vital patient services and support.
Anyone impacted by breast cancer can receive free counseling, support, and recommendations for local resources from Komen’s Breast Care Helpline, which is the nation’s only support line dedicated to breast cancer. Some of the services this helpline offers is help with patient navigation, clinical trial information, educational resources, mental health support and local financial support for those in need going through treatments. Funds from the Walk are critical to ensuring these services can continue.
